Dr. Sorensen is a nuclear engineer and national security innovator whose career spans elite defense roles and successful aerospace entrepreneurship. After earning his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan, he developed advanced counterproliferation technologies for the Naval Special Warfare Development Group and served as Senior Technology Advisor to the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In this role, his pioneering AI initiatives helped shape the Department of Defense’s innovation agenda and earned him the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service.
Transitioning to the private sector, he led federal strategy at Planet Labs before founding and successfully exiting Orbital Effects, an aerospace firm that fused radar satellite technology with AI.
Today, as the CEO of Visto360, he leads a world-class team backed by top defense investors to deliver real-time, edge-based radar data exploitation for the Department of War.
